Robyn Basman

Dental Therapist, Sylvania School of Dental Therapy 1980
Dental Hygienist, Adelaide School of Para dental studies, Gilles Plains Adelaide 1993

Robyn is registered with the dental board of NSW. In the past, she has worked as a Dental therapist and Senior Dental therapist in Sydney and on the far north coast of NSW, treating children and coordinating dental health programs in schools, community health centres and hospitals.

Around that time, Robyn invented a mobile vanity unit suitable for tooth brush instruction that can be used in shopping centres or at fairs. She presented her Idea at a National conference with other finalists, and as a result, won a state wide award for dental health promotion.

She returned for further studies to Adelaide and completed her diploma in dental hygiene. After graduating, she specialised in working in the treatment of periodontal disease. She aims at making the dental visit for children fun, establishing the belief of the importance of keeping the mouth in a healthy condition from an early age.

Robyn was also the editor both the NSW Dental Therapists Association Newsletter in the 1980s and later the editor of the Dental Hygienists Newsletter in the 1990s.

Outside dentistry, Robyn is a keen master's athlete competing at a National level in distance and middle distance running.
